Environment
- Windows Specification: Windows 10 Pro
- Version: 20H2
- Excel Version: 2108
Background
I created a Gantt chart, but entering dates manually was tedious, so I thought of a way to click dates on a calendar. I searched and found that there is a “Microsoft MonthView Control” for UserForms that can achieve this. Immediately, I opened VBA, opened “Insert”, opened “UserForm”, right-clicked the “Toolbox”, and searched for “Microsoft MonthView Control” in “Additional Controls”. … … It is not there.
Discontinued in Excel 2010
Apparently, this feature was discontinued in Excel 2010. What should I do?
Get an Add-in
I researched further and found that I can get a calendar from Add-ins. I tried it immediately.
- Open Excel.
- Click “Get Add-ins” in the Add-ins section of the Insert tab.
- There is a search bar, so type “Calendar”.
- “Mini Calendar and Date Picker” (or similar) should appear in the candidates, so click “Add”.
- Click “Continue”.
Then, a calendar appears. Select the cell where you want to enter the date, click the date on the displayed calendar, and it is entered automatically. Yay. It worked.
Honest Opinion…
It worked, but personally, I do not like the design of the Add-in calendar. I will study if there is anything else I can do.
